PDHPE
At Al Amanah College, the PDHPE Faculty promotes student well-being by providing a comprehensive and contemporary curriculum. Aligned with the NSW PDHPE syllabus, our programs equip students with the knowledge, capabilities, and values required to make informed and positive decisions related to health, physical activity, and personal development.
From Years 7 to 10, students study Personal Development, Health, and Physical Education (PDHPE), which explores personal and community health, movement skills, and lifelong physical activity. In Years 11 and 12, students transition to the newly introduced Health and Movement Science course, which takes an advanced and research-based approach to human movement, health promotion, and sports science.
The PDHPE Faculty is committed to:
- Delivering a holistic approach to student health and well-being—covering physical, emotional, social, and cognitive domains.
- Implementing NESA-aligned, evidence-based learning.
- Promoting lifelong engagement in physical activity and proactive health behaviours.
- Fostering leadership, collaboration, and resilience through sport and health initiatives.
- Examining broader health determinants such as diversity, equity, and sustainability.
- Strengthening critical thinking for evaluating health information and decision-making, and advocating well-being.
