Career Pathways
Career Services – Guiding Students Towards a Bright Future
At Salamah College, our Career Services are dedicated to helping students explore, plan, and achieve their career aspirations. We understand that every student’s journey is unique, and we provide personalised support to help them navigate their pathway to further education, training, or employment.
Through career planning, university partnerships, work experience programs, and job readiness training, we ensure students leave school feeling confident and prepared for their next steps.
Personalised Career Planning & Support
Our career development journey begins in Year 10, where students receive individual career guidance and action plans tailored to their interests and skills. Students are supported through:
- One-on-one career interviews to identify strengths, goals, and potential career paths.
- Information sessions on university, apprenticeships, and employment pathways.
- Excursions to universities, TAFE colleges, workplaces, and career expos.
- Industry and alumni incursions, where professionals and past graduates share career insights.
By providing relevant and up-to-date career advice, we ensure that students make informed decisions about their future.

University Early Entry Programs & Non-ATAR Pathways
At Salamah College, we recognise that students have different academic goals and career aspirations.
Early University Offer Support
We assist students in applying for direct university entry schemes, where leadership, academic performance, and extracurricular activities are considered alongside academic results.
Vocational & Non-ATAR Pathways
For students pursuing hands-on careers, we provide support in exploring Vocational Education and Training (VET), apprenticeships, and industry-based qualifications.
By working closely with universities, training organisations, and employers, we ensure every student has a pathway to success.

Work Experience & Job Skills Training
We believe in learning through experience, which is why we offer a structured Work Experience Program that allows students to:
Apply practical skills in a real-world setting.
Gain valuable industry experience to enhance their resumes.
Explore different career options before committing to further study or employment.
Students receive step-by-step guidance, including:
🔹 How to apply for work experience placements?
🔹 Workplace conduct training to understand expectations and professional behaviour.
🔹 Reflection sessions to evaluate their experiences and develop future goals.
Work Experience allows students to:
- Observe and be part of a workplace in which they may find interesting
- Ask questions about the work
- Ask questions about the study necessary to be in a particular field of work
- Gain skills and knowledge
- Undertake supervised work that is appropriate to students’ level
Students return from Work Experience and recognise the value of workplace learning. Most importantly we hold debriefing sessions with students to help them gain insight to the nature of work and how to develop practical and theoretical skills associated with the workplace.
Over the years, many employers have formed networked relationships with our student community and continue to hold working relationships. Many employers ask to have our students back in their workplaces due to the values and skills of our graduates, wherein many are offered positions beyond their schooling careers.
Job Readiness & Interview Skills Training
To ensure students are fully prepared for employment, we offer:
Resume & cover letter writing workshops – Teaching students how to present themselves professionally.
Mock interviews with feedback – Helping students gain confidence in job interviews.
Career coaching from Alumni Committee & industry experts – Providing real-world advice on how to stand out in the job market.
Through these sessions, students develop communication skills, professionalism, and workplace confidence.
A Future of Possibilities
At Salamah College, we are committed to supporting every student’s career journey, whether they choose to pursue university, vocational training, or direct employment.
Through personalised career planning, university partnerships, work experience, and professional development, we ensure our students are equipped with the skills, confidence, and knowledge to succeed in their future careers.
