Creative Arts
At Salamah College, Creative Arts provides opportunities for self-expression creativity, and artistic and aesthetic knowledge, understanding and skills in Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts.
Through the 4 focus areas of Visual Art, Music, Drama and Dance, students are able to use their imagination to develop artworks not only for aesthetic pleasure but also to share ideas.
Each of the art forms is acknowledged in the syllabus for its unique contribution to the Creative Arts and students’ learning:
• In Visual Arts students explore the ways subject matter and ideas about the world are represented in artworks and how artworks communicate ideas to audiences.
• In Music students develop an understanding of music as a form of personal and cultural expression and a way of connecting through sounds and silence.
• In Drama students communicate meaning through embodied storytelling and the enactment of real and imagined people, and experiences.
• In Dance students develop understandings of human movement and ways to use body shapes and movements to express and communicate ideas.
